A seminar on ‘Swachhata’ was organized by N.S.S. Units 51 & 52 of G.Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti on 16.08.2016. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. B. Makesh Kumar, NSS Unit 51 Programme Officer. Dr. Gurusamy, a Doctor from Primary Health Centre, Ilayarasanendal demonstrated about Personal Hygiene and delivered a talk on ‘Clean and Green India’. At the end of the seminar swatchhata pledge was taken by the NSS Volunteers.  Mrs. R. Kavitha Manju, NSS Unit 52 Programme Officer delivered vote of thanks.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

A Blood Donation Camp was organized by NSS Units 51 & 52 of G.Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti on 12.8. 2016 (Friday) in connection with College Parton’s Day. The blood donation drive was organised in collaboration with Primary Health Centre, Ilayarasanendal and Government Hospital Blood Bank. The camp was inaugurated by the College Secretary Sri. K. Selvaraj. About 80 students registered for blood donation, out of which, 64 candidates were able to donate blood as the donors went through a series of medical checkups before donating blood.  The samples were carefully sealed and transported away, while the volunteers helped in the clean-up of the area. Donors were given refreshments and a certificate of appreciation for their service to humanity.  This camp helped students to gain awareness about their social responsibilities and showed enthusiastic participation for the same.
