One Day Workshop on Disaster Management & First Aid




Date: 12.12.2017      Venue: G. Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti
          One day workshop on Disaster Management was conducted in collaboration with National Disaster Management Authority, Tamil Nadu.    G. Arumugam, Training Officer, South Regional, India National Disaster Management Authority, New Delhi. This workshop was conducted in two sessions. Morning session was focused on various aspects of disaster, awareness and importance, types of disasters [man made & natural], post disaster precaution and activities, importance of first aid, elements of first aid. In the Afternoon Practical sessions were about - Do & Don’ts during and after the disaster, demonstration of different rescue tools were demonstrated with the help of student volunteers. A group of students trained for such emergency situation. Precautions to be taken in helping victims, procedures to be followed after the arrival of medical team, transportation of victim to nearby medical facility and safe areas, were explained and demonstrated with the help of presentation.  




TREE PLANTATION




Date: 10.12.2017      Venue: G. Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti
In association with PEKAY BPO we planted tree saplings in the State Highway near by our College. Mrs. Rajeswari, founder of the Company, presided over the function by planting a sapling. Company Staff and NSS Volunteers actively participated in this programme.  


AIDS Awareness Programme



Date: 08.12.2017      Venue: G. Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti
World aids day is celebrated every year all over the world on 1st of December to raise  public awareness about AIDS.   We observed this day on 8.12.2017 by providing awareness to the students. Dr. S. Krishnasamy, Principal presided over the function. Chief Guest Mr. Bharathan, Additonal Director, Tamil Nadu Aids Control Society (TANSAC) delivered an awareness lecture about AIDS.  Kovilpatti Government Hopsital ICTC councillors Mr. Munees, Mrs. Sudha and Mrs. Revathi elaborately explained How  children, pregnant women and young people can be protected from HIV? and other details about HIV. Volunteers took the AIDS pledge by lighting the candle.
