WORKSHOP ON “MUSHROOM CULTIVATION”

NSS Units 51 & 52 organized an one day hands on training workshop on ‘ MUSHROOM CULTIVATION, in collaboration with Entrepreneur Development Cell, for the NSS Volunteers and Local village people. Mr. R. Govindarajan, Senior Researcher, Department of Entomology, Loyola College, Chennai conducted the workshop. In the inaugural session. Mrs. G. Adhilakshmi, Principal i/c delivered presidential address, Mr. G. Venkatachalapathy, Director (SFC) delivered felicitation. Trainer Mr. R. Govindarajan demonstrated Mushroom Growing House Demonstration, Practical demonstration, theory and audio video presentation.  In the valedictory function Mr. R. Pradeep  John, Manager, Personal Loan, State Bank of India, Kovilpatti issued the certificates to the participants. Later, Mrs. D. Jeyabharathi, Convener of Entreprenurship Developmental Cell delivered felicitation address. Totally 100 NSS volunteers and 25 villagers participated in this workshop.

CAMPUS CLEANING

CAMPUS CLEANING – NSS UNIT 51 & 52

In connection with the harvest festival of Pongal NSS Units 51 & 52   organized campus cleanliness drive in the College.  NSS Volunteers, Staff and students actively participated in the campus cleaning camp. They cleaned up the entire campus area and the plastics collected were disposed off safely by the volunteers.

To develop NSS volunteers self employability skills and to cultivate vegetables in organic way, NSS Units 51 & 52   organized a seminar on “Kitchen Gardening” by Mr. S. Balaji, Mouthi Kitchen Garden, Sivakasi.

As a part of VIITIYA SAKSHARAT ABHIYAN (VISAKA) compaign for promoting digital economy, NSS Units 51 & 52 organized a special seminar on “Cashless Transaction/Economy” by Dr. K. Jeyakumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce.   30 male Volunteers and 150 female volunteers participated in this programme.

Celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas & Sankalp Diwas

Sardar Vallabbhai Patel’s birthday is being celebrated all over India today as the National Unity Day. The management, faculty and students of G. Venkataswmy Naidu College salute this great leader on this occasion and pledges that they will do all they can to maintain and foster the unity of India.

The pledge was administered by Mrs. G. Adhilakshmi, Head Department of Zoology at 10.45 am in the ground. Faculty members, staff and students participated in the pledge ceremony and took pledge for the integrity and unity of the country.

Death  Anniversary  of former  Prime  Minister  of  India,  Mrs.  Indira  Gandhi  is  also observed. Prevention of Terrorism is reiterated by the event. Around 400 students participated  in the rally  which started inside the campus and  through  Ayyaneri village and  reached  the  campus.  Principal Dr. G. Mariappan, Principal flagged off the rally. Students raised slogans against terrorism.  Other  important  events  like  National  unity  day  to mark  the  birth  anniversary  of  iron  man  of  India  Sardar  Vallabhai  Patel.
