A Blood Donation Camp was
organized by NSS Units 51 & 52 of G.Venkataswamy
Naidu College, Kovilpatti on 16.08.2017 (Wednesday) in
connection with College Parton’s Day. The blood donation drive was organised in
collaboration with Primary Health Centre, Ilayarasanendal and Government
Hospital Blood Bank. The camp was inaugurated by the College Principal Dr. S.
Krishnasamy. About 74 students registered for blood donation, out of which, 39
candidates were able to donate blood as the donors went through a series of
medical checkups before donating blood. The samples were carefully sealed
and transported away, while the volunteers helped in the clean-up of the area.
Donors were given refreshments and a certificate of appreciation for their
service to humanity. This camp helped students to gain awareness about
their social responsibilities and showed enthusiastic participation for the
same.
