SMOKELESS DIWALI CELEBRATIONS - 16.10.2017

In order to minimize the air pollution smokeless Diwali was celebrated by NSS volunteers by lighting the mud lamps and taking the Diwlai pledge. Awareness was created to other students by holding placards with slogans mentioning the Diwali responsibilities and with minimal environmental consequence. 



NILAVEMBU KUDI NEER DISTRIBUTION

Nilavembu Herbal Kudineer was distributed to the people of Ayyaneri Village by NSS volunteers. 



YOUTH AWAKENING DAY CELEBRATIONS - 15.10.2017




Date: 15.10.2017      Venue: Ayyaneri Village Hindu Middle School

In connection with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday, Youth awakening day was celebrated at Hindu Middle School, Ayyaneri. Mrs. Mariammal, Head mistress presided over the function. NSS Volunteers Mr. Karthick & Ms. Gowri narrated the story of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to the students. A short film about Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam was shown to the students. Tree saplings were also planted in the campus.
Later, by lighting the mud lamps and taking the Diwali pledge the NSS volunteers and School students celebrated a smokeless Diwali.




ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS

A road safety awareness programme was conducted to NSS volunteers. Guest speaker Mr. Umaiar Baham, Sub Inspector of Police, West Police Station, Kovilpatti elaborately explained to volunteers about road safety, rules and regulations.


MASS TREE PLANTATION - 11.10.2017

Tree Plantation programme was held in our College on 11th October  2017 in collaboration with District Forest Office.   The NSS Volunteers, our staff, public volunteers  actively participated in the programme.  We  planted various types of plants some of them being Vembu (Azadirachta indica),  Poovarasu (Thespesia populnea),  Pungai (Pongamia pinnata) and yellow flametrees (Peltophorum pterocarpum).  Forest department official taught us how to plant them and then they watered the plants.  Each volunteer planted a tree and instructed to ensure its growth.
