YOUTH AWAKENING DAY CELEBRATIONS



Date: 16.10.2018                 Venue: Government Higher Secondary School

In connection with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday, Youth awakening day was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School, Ilayarasanendal. NSS Volunteers Ms. Vijayalakshmi and Ms. Preethisha narrated the story of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to the students. A short film about Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam was shown to the students. Tree saplings were also planted in the campus. 







ESSAY WRITTING COMPETITION

In connection with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s Birthday and Wild Life Week an Essay and Drawing competition was conducted to Government Higher Secondary School students, Ilayarasanendal.

Joy of Giving Week Celebration



Date: 15.10.2018                Venue: G.V.N.College

In connection with “Joy of Giving Week” celebration, the volunteers brought a oru piddi rice, sugar and dal, aggregate it and which was further donated to poorest family in Ayyaneri Village.



Awareness Programme on Swatch Bharath & Gandhian Thoughts


Date:12.10.2018      Venue:  Govt. Higher Sec. School, Thottilovanpatti.

In connection with 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahathma Gandhi, to inculcate Gandhian thoughts and Swatch Bharath in the young minds, NSS Unit 51 organised a theme puppet show in the above mentioned Schools. Our NSS Volunteer Mr. Kalaiselvan did the puppet show; rest of the volunteers extended their support. This show emphasized about clean India movement, forgiveness and calmness. Later students took clean India and Gandhian Peace pledge developed by Gandhi Peace Foundation, Chennai.  



MASS PALMYARA PALM SEED PLANTATION



Date: 06.10.18, 07.10.18 & 14.10.18              Venue: Mudukumeendanpatti 

Palmyara Palm Seed Plantation programme was held at Mudukkumeendanpatti in collaboration with Pasumai Iyakkam, Kovilpatti.   The NSS Volunteers, public volunteers  actively participated in this programme.  We  planted 647 Palmyara Palm Seeds along water bodies in the village.
